Back to kick of 2022 under the best auspices, Hysteria Temple Foundation return with their sophomore instalment, "Ritual" - a four-track audio trip showcasing the duo's signature blend of bassy horsepower, tribal anchorage and dubbed-out futurism.

Hijacking your sound system with instant impact, the lead-track "Carpathian Ritual" featuring Alina Pash is a perfect example of HTF's hair-raising take on shamanic 4x4 wares. Inspired by ayahuasca-induced visions she had in the Carpathians, "Carpathian Ritual" reels out as a faux- junglistic maelstrom of sense-awakening, ritualistic frenzy and adventurous introspection you'll have a hard time finding any equivalent to in today's landscape.

A more subdued affair, "Tundrak" treats us to an even darker, desert folk music-informed voyage into opaque melodic grounds. Relying on a palette similar to that of dub techno all the while implementing and polishing a distinctive sonic approach, it convulsively threads its way past known beacons and genre-bound limitations to establish its own line of action, half-way surgical BMB oomph, rage-filled drone and Berber traditions.

Cranking the speed levels up a notch, "Shyrokyi Lu" heaves us amidst a fiery batucada; horns, chimes and drums blazing to overwhelming effect as we enter a trance-like state of physical dispossession.

Rounding off the package is "Transilvania" - a zen-like piece of temple music fitting both meditative and subtle after time-friendly use with its slo-evolving layers and lulling drums on a fly, appeasing jazz tip.
